FAQ

The questions that come up before every booking.

If the answer you need is not here, call +234 815 525 7150 and ask.

General

How far in advance should I book?

For a standard sedan or SUV, a day is usually enough. For buses, weekend dates and anything in December, book as early as you can — those are the dates that run out first.

Do you take payment on the website?

No. You send a request, we confirm the vehicle and quote you, and payment is arranged by bank transfer after that. Nothing is charged while you are browsing.

How long is a day?

Twelve hours on chauffeur-driven hire, counted from the agreed pick-up time, with 30 litres of fuel included. Self-drive is a full twenty-four hours from collection, and you return the vehicle at the fuel level you took it away with.

Which areas of Lagos do you cover?

We cover Lagos State — Ikeja, Victoria Island, Lekki, Ikoyi, Surulere, Yaba, Ajah, Apapa, Festac, Berger and elsewhere. Travel outside the state must be agreed before the vehicle leaves; it is quoted per trip with a fuel supplement and, if the driver stays over, an overnight allowance. Taking a vehicle out of Lagos without prior notice breaches the hire agreement, attracts a penalty and voids the insurance.

Do you provide security escorts?

Not ourselves — it is a different trade and we would rather not pretend otherwise. For armed or unarmed escorts, convoy support and close protection, speak to Ezkut at www.ezkut.ng. We are happy to coordinate a vehicle around whatever they arrange.

Are your vehicles insured?

Yes, comprehensively. On self-drive hire there is an insurance excess which is deducted from your deposit if a claim arises, and we tell you that figure before you sign anything.

What happens if the vehicle breaks down during my hire?

Call the number on your booking confirmation. Within Lagos we send a replacement rather than waiting on a repair, and you are not billed for the time lost.

Can I hire a vehicle for a wedding or event?

Yes, and it is one of the more common reasons people call. Say so when you book — event hire usually means a specific vehicle on a specific date rather than whatever is free, so it needs locking in early.

Chauffeur-driven hire

What happens if I need the car for longer than twelve hours?

You tell the driver and we bill the extra hours at the rate quoted to you before the trip started. The driver will not renegotiate with you on the road, and there is no surge pricing.

What if we use more than 30 litres of fuel?

Thirty litres covers a normal day's movement around Lagos. Anything beyond it is refuelled during the trip and added to your invoice at pump price, with the receipt attached. There is no mark-up on fuel.

Can the driver take me outside Lagos?

Yes, but it must be agreed before the vehicle leaves. Inter-state travel is quoted separately because it involves fuel beyond the included allowance and usually an overnight allowance for the driver. Taking a vehicle out of Lagos State without telling us first is a breach of the hire agreement and attracts a penalty — see the terms of hire.

Do I need to feed the driver?

No. Driver welfare is our responsibility and is built into the rate.

Can I request the same driver again?

Yes, and most repeat clients do. Ask for them by name when you book and we will assign them if they are free.

How much is the security deposit?

It depends on the vehicle — higher-value cars carry a higher deposit. We tell you the exact amount when we confirm your booking, before you commit to anything.

When do I get the deposit back?

Within five working days of returning the vehicle undamaged, fuelled and on time. If there are traffic fines still working their way through the system, we hold back only the amount at issue and release the rest.

How is fuel handled?

We note the fuel level when you collect the vehicle, and you return it at that same level. If it comes back lower we charge the shortfall at pump price. Bring it back fuller and we will not charge you less, so there is nothing to gain from overfilling.

Does a day mean twenty-four hours?

Yes. Self-drive is a full twenty-four hours from collection, unlike chauffeur-driven hire, which is a twelve-hour day because a driver's working hours are part of what you are paying for.

Is there a mileage limit?

Not within Lagos. Taking the vehicle outside Lagos State requires our agreement in advance — insurance terms change at the state line, and doing it without telling us is a breach of the agreement that attracts a penalty. Ask first and it is usually fine.

Can someone else drive the car?

Only if they are named on the agreement and we have seen their licence. An unnamed driver invalidates the insurance, which puts the full value of the vehicle on you.

Airport transfer

What if my flight is delayed?

We track the flight number you give us and the driver adjusts. A delayed flight does not change the quoted price. This is the main reason to book a fixed transfer rather than hail something on arrival.

Will the driver meet me inside?

If you ask for meet-and-greet, yes — the driver waits in the arrivals hall with a board showing your name. Otherwise they will call you and direct you to the pick-up point.

Do you cover the domestic terminal?

Yes, both the international and domestic terminals at Murtala Muhammed, and the private terminals.

Can I book a return leg at the same time?

Yes, and it is worth doing — outbound trips to the airport are the ones most often left to the last minute, which is exactly when nothing is available.

Corporate & long-term lease

Service page →

What is the minimum contract length?

One month. Rates improve at three, six and twelve months, and twelve-month contracts are where the saving against day rates becomes substantial.

What happens if a vehicle breaks down mid-contract?

A replacement of the same class is sent and the failed vehicle goes to our workshop. You do not lose days and you are not billed for the gap — this is the main practical advantage of leasing over owning.

Can we use our own drivers?

Yes, on a vehicle-only lease. The insurance terms differ and we will need to verify each driver, but it is a common arrangement for organisations that already employ drivers.

Do you handle staff shuttle routes?

Yes. Buses on fixed morning and evening routes are one of the more common contracts we run. Give us the pick-up points and headcount and we will size it properly.
